How it Works

Understand, Solve, Implement

Barcode Based

Every item and location in the warehouse receives a unique barcode. The system uses these item and location level barcodes to track the movement of stock through the warehouse. An item’s unique barcode is scanned every time its location or status changes. This creates end-to-end traceability of all stock items in the warehouse.

Typical Barcode Components

Reporting and Analysis

GraniteWMS Warehouse Management

Item levels barcodes are scanned at every point of interaction, following the item on its entire journey through the warehouse. The resulting data enables GraniteWMS to provide reports and analysis on overall warehouse operations. The interface enables detailed reports on progress and performance which in turn supports better, data driven, business decisions.

Receiving Managing and Shipping

Receiving Stock

All received stock is validated and labelled, and a GRV (Goods Receipt Voucher) is created. This can be matched to a purchase order or ad hoc receiving.

Location Setup

Uniquely identify all possible locations in the warehouse by ERP location, type, category, and site or branch. Each location gets a unique identifying barcode on the system.

Item Setup

Record the barcode, unit of measure, re-order quantity, item type and category, quality control parameters, default location, and other custom fields for each item.

Stock Control

GraniteWMS provides location management, RF scanning, adjustment, look-up, quantity and unit of measure management for all stock.

Stock Take

Users can scan items and bulk enter quantity or scan items in individually. GraniteWMS provides a live dashboard of all items.

Put Away and Replenishment

All stock is scanned into a location. Stock can also be set to be automatically put away in a default location. Replenishment of picking locations from Bulk is also supported.

Picking

Users get custom pick-slips and a simple to follow progress dashboard, while the system monitors picks per user and tracks partial picks and back orders to be completed later. Picking uses and is validated with RF technology.

Packing

Items are validated live as they are scanned against a packing manifest. Items are scanned into boxes that are uniquely labeled and identified. The system then produces a waybill for the order.

Reporting

System reporting provides end-to-end traceability of each item, as well as user accountability, stock detail, and a full transaction audit log. It will also show any variance with the ERP system.
